View from the hotel on Kowloon and HKG Island |
And never say never ever. I always said I would never go on an intercont flight if it's for a shorter period than at least 2,5 weeks.
Buuut, I thought I join my friend K and found myself in the plane from Munich to Hong Kong on a Monday evening, arrival Tuesday afternoon and return on Thursday night. Shor,t but a great time.
Though what to do if you just have this little time.
1st half day.
Either join on the Panorama deck |
It looks amazing, I have heard from a light show, we didn't see. Nevertheless, the skyline with it's colourful illuminated buildings and messages written on the towers are great. Especially, for somebody from Munich ;-)
We walked down the hill and took the long elevator to SoHo. A great area full of restaurants and bars. Hong Kong is an ongoing party.
Or you go for a little walk and enjoy the view |
On a roof bar :-) |
2nd day
We spent the day on a boat, jumping into the water, swimming, barbecue. Just a fantastic sunny day in July.
On our way back to the hotel we stopped for a foot massage :-) .
This is a barbecue :-) |
Sunset is coming... |
View from Kowloon to HKG Island |
Kowloon Park |
I followed the walking track 1 mentioned in my MarcoPolo guide. I wouldn't recommend it, a lot of walking with "ok" things. Just walk along the streets yourself it's more interesting.
Yes, he is taking a selfie-video walking along the street?! Why should anybody ever watch this??? |
Bird park in HKG Park |
Back on Hong Kong Island I went to Hong Kong Park. There is a big bird park where you can walk through. Quite nice.
Trip by bus to Stanley. Next to skyscrapers lots of green |
Next I took the bus to Stanley. It's either 6 or 6x. Stanley is on the other side of HKG Island. A quiet area with a little market and shopping area and also a beach where you can go swimming. It's just a short strip, but in a way different.
Weird to experience this busy business district with its skyscrapers and just a few minutes later you are surrounded by trees.
Beach of Stanley |
Back to Wan Chai I went for dinner before I caught up with K. again and we had to head back to the airport for the flight home.
A good breakout of everyday life :-). I like Hong Kong, I am sure I will visit it again.
